I left my comfort zone, I failed forward and now I have my 1st video!
I did it. I made a video. Not a big deal I know but a new achievment for me. After having it in the back of mind for the past day or so, number one on today’s to do list was get a video on youtube.
I have never used ms powerpoint or camtasia before and never uploaded a video to youtube.
I’m really starting to see the power of ‘fail forward fast’. In the past I would have spent a long time over this, trying to get every detail right. I probably would have spent a day playing around with powerpoint and another with camtasia before I even started on the video.
But now, using the planning process and mindset that Alex is installing in all of us, I just got on with it.
It’s a shame but true, that the biggest constraint holding us back from success is ourselves. Stepping outside your comfort zone is never easy but it’s also never as hard as you think. This whole journey we are on is a massive learning curve and is great to see everyone improving on a daily basis.
So whatever it is you have been meaning to do or to try, just go for it. You will be pleased you did.
Anyway, on to my masterpiece. LOL!
It’s short, it’s basic and it’s not going to have Steven Spielberg knocking on my door but more importantly it’s a step forward.
The next one will be better as will the one after that.
So what’s next outside the comfort zone for you?
Here is the video. No need to grab the popcorn. It’s less than a minute long
p.s. a big thanks to Nigel for his help! He has a new video also so check out his blog.

Hi Mark,
Great video mate, nice touches and idea for the use of Alex’s website header and great choice of music btw, there’s a nice hook and catch to it - especially the ending bit. I’m looking forward to your next video.
All the best and happy directing!!!
Nigel
Hi Mark,
Well done! Congrats on your first video. No one would ever know it was your first attempt if you didn’t say so. It just goes to show what we can do when we allow ourselves to succeed.
Have you submitted it to Digg yet? It’s a free account. Just another way to drive traffic to your site.
All the best,
Theresa
Hey Mark,
I thought you did a great job on your first video. Short and Sweet. I’d like to see how many views it gets on YouTube and how much traffic you get from it.
I’ve done a few videos and it definitely was out of my comfort zone but the more I made the easier it got. I’ve only sent them to my email list and never to YouTube. That will be next.
By the way, I’m adding you to my blogroll as we speak.
Great work.
Later,
Jeff Sargent
Hey Mark,
What a ripper of a video! Well done man, that looks absolutely fantastic! Mate that should pull sign-ups if anythings going to.
I like your site and the various plugins you’ve used, especially the opt-in form on the top. That is great for driving traffic to your offer.
Let me know when you release your next video.
Cheers,
Dean
Hi Mark:
WOW!!!! That was really your very first attempt? Attempt shouldn’t even be used… it really is great!!! Short, sweet, direct and to the point — nothing else can be said except… WOW!!!
I have been hesitating on doing my own video as I’ve never done one before but you have now inspired me to go forward with a You Tube video…thank you!!!
Robin
Hey Mark
Thats brilliant mate. You inspire me. I’m gonna have to come up with something now, cos I can see the potential for traffic with something like that. Love the music. Was it something you created too?

Hi Mark,

Also this morning I’ve put up details of a KILLER free offer. It’s not just one thing as well !!! I’m really excited about this and it will be of benefit whether you are an AJ student or not. Anyway get over there and grab it now.

Mark

Hi Mark,
I am thoroughly impressed with the video that you created. I really have to get off my behind and get to creating one of those. How has the traffic been from that video. I wish you luck and will probably have some questions for you. Talk to you soon.
P.S.- I’ve added you to my blogroll as well.

Great going on the video Mark! Very impressive for a first attempt.
I think I’m going to have to work on something like that, like you I’ve never made a video before so should be interesting…
Thanks for popping by my blog, I’ve added you to my blogroll.
Laters mate,
Carl.
Hi Mark,
Just to add another comment on how powerful videos are to promote your blog/wesbite. Since I put my 25 minute tutorial up on “How to make a Video” you won’t believe how many times it has been embedded and linking back to my site. I’ll put a post up on my site later - you will truly be astonished at the figures. It is already going viral which Alex Jeffreys is on about to us that we need to do to get recognition.
But that is nothing compared to my latest KILLER offer - thanks for signing up already Mark. If you’ve been struggling to come up with something to grow your lists than my latest giveaways (not one here, but recurring!) will solve your problem. Pop over and check it out now.

Hi Mark,
Great job! The video looks brilliant!
BTW, I’ve written a new post with more details about my AdWords test. Read it on my blog at http://K-MarketingOnline.com.

Koen.
Hi Mark.
Loved the video, toe tapping music to boot
Your blog is looking good as well
I posted on my blog about a listbuilding plugin, that might be of use to you.

Hi there, you have been busy too I see. Wonder the ‘GURU’ AKA Alex Jeffreys realises how many guys are out here with eye lids propped open with matchsticks doing all these twiddly bits! lol
Any way my blog can be found at
http://www.g4usbmarketing.com/blog
I have also cobbled together a Forum in the hope that as many students as possible will join and use it as the place to post questions and receive answers. A Forum is so much better than a Blog as a Forum has several potential helpers and the Blog leaves it up to just one, its owner.
Would appreciate you having a look, registering and testing out the functionality of the beast.

Any suggestions and comments will be warmly received.

Hi Mark,
Excellent job on the video… I can’t see where you can do much to improve it. I guess I’d better get started learning how to do videos, too.
I’ve added you to my blogroll and hope you will do the same.
All the best,
Jack
Congratulations Mark….
It is normal not like change and so leaving your comfort zone is a huge step forward….you have done well.
I so admire you people that can make videos and stuff like that. With Gary Parks camtasia on how to make a video soon I will be able to do that as well….I hope…!!!
One of Alex Jeffrey’s Class of 2008 – The Rat Pack has been awarded an accolade. You’d better drop by to see who it is….!!!
Congratulations and I wish you the best of success

Hi Mark,
Well done on making this video ~ I think it’s great, and if you don’t mind I am going to write something about it on my new blog in a day, or so.
I am pretty pumped about Alex’s Course and looking forward to tonight’s call.
Mark, when you have a moment I wonder if you would change the link in your blogroll from http://pebblesfromparadise.com to http://stephenbray.com because I decided to follow Alex’s instructions implicitly and start from the begiing, (although I will continue my old blog too but not write on IM).
Please let me know if I can help you in any way.
Warm regards,
Steve
