Alex Jeffreys Coaching Mod 6 - The Triple Threat Affiliate Pt2 & Video
For part 2 of this post on Alex Jeffreys coaching Module 6, I am going to reveal to you what the triple threat tactic actually involves. This is a little used yet highly effective strategy that will greatly increase you email marketing success.
So how do you become a triple threat affiliate?
Well firstly, let’s look at the usual way people market to their list. Some marketers rely heavily on autoresponder sequence messages, while others prefer to use the broadcast feature in Aweber. Alex Jeffreys falls in to the later category, he has a small auto-responder sequence in place but will mostly contact his subscribers by the broadcast feature.
Whichever method you use, if do not implement the tactic I’m about to share with you, then you will be missing out on significantly improved conversion rates.
The majority of marketers will send an email to their list and look no further than that. But when you send an email to your subscribers one of three things will happen:
- your subscriber will open your email & click the links within
- your subscriber will open your email but NOT click the links
- your subscriber will not open the email
So you list is now split into 3 types of subscribers with different responses to your email. Wouldn’t it be great if we could target these groups separately? We could then send them an email specifically worded for that group and to encourage them to take the action we require. That would be:
- group one - re visit the link and buy the product
- group two - click the link
- group three - open the email
Well the good news is thanks to Aweber we can. Using this feature Alex Jeffreys saw his open rate increase from 20% to 50% and his click through rate from 10% to 30%. You can imagine what this did for his affiliate commissions. With in one month of using this tactic his income doubled!
So how do you set this up in Aweber?

I would like to add something in connection with open and click through rates.
There are a few factors to consider on open rates and click through’s
What are we asking the customer to click through to?
What markets are we in?
I would say that 40% open rate in a competitive market such as Internet Marketing is considered very good.
Once I sent a simple mail to my list giving them some advise how to build the list. Open rate was 87%. The next mail was recommending a brilliant product that I have tried myself with masked affiliate link.
The open rate was 32%, click through rate was 13%. I was still pleased with it. A week later I sent another mail recommending the product I have tried myself and open rate was similar to the previous one 39% but the click through was unbelievable 30%.
So why this time 30%? Here is why and I find this very interesting as it shows that psychology plays huge part when affiliates are involved.
I put two links in the mail. One link says “this is my affiliate link and you can click through if you want” and the other one says “this is not affiliate link, this is just a link to the product website and it is up to you which one you would like to use”. 89% of people who clicked through clicked actually through my affiliate link. Interesting.

This post is completely off topic.
Apologises for that - but I’m having problems viewing my blog in IE7 after updates last night. It’s fine in Firefox.
The ‘Home’ page of the blog is the problem, all the other pages are fine.
I’ve tried deactivating most of the plugins and removed my AWeber pop-up code - but that makes no difference.
Any ideas?
Have you heard of anyone else with a similar problem to mine?
